Niche collection presents bright stripes inspired by nature and designed in Australia

Amilla Swimwear based on the Gold Coast in Australia has launched a new line of swimwear, featuring bold bright colours that reflect Mother Nature’s palette, and inspired by the marine life and the Maldivian Islands.

Recently, some large brands have been criticized for “missing the mark” with florals and muted colours and safe designs, but Amilla Swimwear has gone with stripes, high cut and cheeky bottoms, crossover soft tops and an active bra top for those who want do more than lounge by the pool.

All of the sets are fully reversible, with triple coloured stripes on one side and bright block colours the other side, and they are all seamless.  They are all available as separates to mix and match as required, stylishly. Some block colours match other stripe piece so individual coordinates can be selected.

Amilla Swimwear founder Karri Nicholas, is a young QLD model and entrepreneur who found the bikini scene a little lifeless and safe. So after a holiday in the Maldives, she was inspired to take things into her own hands and use the stunning colours she saw underwater, and designing her own launch range, that suited a young active girl’s lifestyle such as her own.

“If I go in the surf, I wanted a top that wouldn’t ride up, or move to the side, but that still looked stylish, so I designed the Regal Top – cut low at the cleavage and scooped low on the back, but with solid shoulder straps and a firmly banded underneath to hold it down,” said Karri, of the brilliantine royal blue, black and white striped Regal Set loosely named after the Regal Angelfish that populate the island’s waters. The reverse colour is black.

Or the red, white and blue classic side tie triangle top bikini, the Crown Set. This bikini is inspired by the Crown of Thorns Starfish, that is one of the most voracious species found in the Indo-Pacific Region. It stands for enthusiasm and determination. Reversible side is rich fire red.

But for those looking for a racier style, the yellow, black and white itsy-bitsy bikini – the “Vagabond” is named after the Vagabond Butterfly fish which is recognised by the striking yellow and black vertical bands. Perfect for the beach for minimal tan-lines and a tight-fitted top for extra support. The reversible colour is bright yellow accentuating your natural tan.

The orange, black and white traditional style Brazillian bottom, is teamed with a crossover soft top, that ties attractively on the back (or the front) is the “Emperor Set”. The reversible side is pure white for a classic and classy bikini. The colours represent the Red Emperor Fish commonly found in the Maldives with a twist of orange.

The bikinis are sure to make a splash this long, hot summer on the beach or beside the pool.
