Over 50 employees from Accor Ambassador hotels around Seoul gathered in Noeul Park as part of Planet 21 - Acting Here!, the group’s sustainability development program. The team planted 150 trees under the guidance of the park’s tree experts.
With its “Plant for the Planet” program, Accor has pledged to reach the 10-million-tree mark by the end of 2021, making it the first CAC40 company to adopt an environmental resolution at its General Meeting. The group also earned the Trophée RSE (CSR Trophy) at the Grand Prix de l’Assemblée Générale 2015 (the 2015 General Meeting Awards) organised by CapitalCom. Through the “Give a Tree” digital platform, everyone is welcomed to support agroforestry projects deployed by the Group, whether they are guests, employees, partners or local residents.
“We are fully committed to act for positive hospitality and encourage our hoteliers to take green actions across all of our hotels in South Korea. The tree-planting initiative is a key opportunity to engage our teams in the Planet 21 – Acting Here programme, and we are planning many more activities for the good of our planet and the communities in which we operate”, said Vincent Lelay, Vice President of Operations for South Korea.
Accor hotels in South Korea are actively involved in the Planet 21 – Acting Here program, engaging in eco-friendly activities such as fostering urban beehives and green gardens, as well as eliminating plastic straws within the hotels.
